I'm so so so pissed off at the amount of ignorance regarding the treatment of pitbulls in this country. Since the whole Vick thing, a number of organizations and millions of people have spoken up in favor of convicting the bastard and saving the dogs. BUT with a little further research, you'll find that PETA is in favor of pit bull bans, BSL...and HSUS is opposed to rehabilitating pitties with fight history, even if they are well behaved.
It's such a crying shame that the cold hearted assholes that fight dogs have done this to the breed as a whole. They've turned them into monsters in the hearts of the american public, all in the name of a tough image and gambling. I see these dogs everyday...coming in to be surrendered because the owners can't handle them anymore. They bought from a friend who breeds....left the dog outside 100%...never socialized with other dogs...never did any basic training...encouraged "guarding" the home and family...never spayed or neutered. and there's nothing we can do for them...
Treating an animal this way is disgusting. You wouldn't treat any other member of your family this way, would you?
I just wish people would do some research before forming opinions or opening their mouths. The most loving and devoted and gentle breed is suffering due to our unwillingness to understand.
