planning for the very near future

Last night was HSSV's Holiday Party at the Blue Pheasant. Why they picked that place is beyond me...the dishes were blah, the drinks were super overpriced, the place looked like tacky christmas pretty much....Oh well I guess when you work for a non profit you should expect those things. Besides all that, once everyone had a couple of drinks in them it did get pretty fun. Afterwards, a few of us went down the road to a divey bar with pool tables and shot a few games. Good times were had by all.

I'm looking around the area for an local tattoo artist to get to know because I have a lot of work in my head. I'm thinking of going to Adrian at Guru. I've heard good things.. Here's a sample:

I like how clean his lines are and the way he blends and fades his colors.

I'm planning on getting a Steller's Jay carrying a lantern and pocket watch...sounds odd but it will turn out...promise.

We went up to the Gestault Haus the other night again....just can't get over them liter German beers and vegan sausages!! Played pool..I lost..and Barrett actually was challenged to a game by an eccentric homeless fellow who had his own cue..pretty entertaining.

This was my downfall...

Here are some epic shots of serious plastic guitar meltdowns...

adopted in a matter of hours.

I've adopted out about 15 cats and kittens on my own at this point! For the next two weeks I'm in customer service only though, probably because its gonna get crazy in adoptions.

President Bush is bold faced lying to us again. Google the latest National Intelligence Estimate and his response. Basically it says that Iran is NOT a threat and they have not had a nuclear program for YEARS. Bush is trying to claim that they are still a threat, despite this information.

We as a nation need some good luck right about now.

a long dusty road

So it has been going on my whole life. This fog. This dark room. This suffocating silence. Coming in waves every few months. Getting too heavy to bear every year or so. It usually results in a failure at whatever I'm trying to accomplish in life at that point, then forces a move. I've lived all over because of it.

Today I don't want to leave. So I'm not. I'm trying to fight.

-----------------------

In the past couple weeks we saw Big Business and Isis. I couldn't take any pictures because I was too into the show. My neck was sore the next day haha. We also went downtown and saw Sarah's band, Man Versus. She's got an amazing voice for sure..

Some of the whole foodies moved into a new house in San Jose. Its this huge rad old place that has old cars in the backyard and a bathroom completely tiled in pink! We had a little candlelit get together on their first night (they didn't have electricity yet). There have also been a couple nights of "Rock Band"...oh lordy.

nibblits

So we have these awesome rats for adoption. They are all so friendly and curious! Rats are amazingly intelligent as well...I've read that after a time they can even respond to their names!

This is Bella... a great little pitty puppy, with Kristi. She's so full of life and wonder and loves EVERYONE she meets.

Here are a few things that are bugging me lately:

1) People saying Kucinich is "unelectable" even though they agree wholeheartedly with his positions on ALL the issues.

2) The "No Child Left Behind Act". More, more and more standardised testing in the schools, less recess, art, critical thinking, breaking out of the box thinking. It's basically a fancy name for the slow disintigration of the integrity of our schools. Break down the public school system and Americans will demand private schools, providing more profit to whomever owns those schools. Education should always be free and equal (one of my major points for staying out of college too). Kids should not have to educate themselves during their mid twenties on things they should have learned as a pre-teen.

3)Gas at $3.55 a gallon. No explanation needed. We really need to get out of the middle east and come up with alternative energy options.

------------
Some things that are making me happy! (It's tough...times like these bring pessimism, but I'm trying not to sink into a total depression, so humor me!)

1) I've adopted out 4 animals on my own since I started cross training in adoptions!

2)Huntingdon Life Sciences (animal testing lab, puppy punchers) lost its major shareholding company this week! One step closer to shutting this torture profiteer down!

3)I'm actually getting excited to cook a few things for Thanksgiving. I love turning people on to good vegan food!! I'm not sure if we're having a get together with friends or going up to Barrett's Aunt's, but either way it should be fun.

putting it all down

a lot of miscellaneous, random crap. feelings have overtaken me lately. i've been slacking. i'm sorry.

"when the smoking gun is in the form of a mushroom cloud"

a couple of mini-pot-pie incarnations i cooked up. 1 veggies, taters and gravy, with broccoli and marinara, and 1 rice, beans, salsa tofu, with spicy black bean sauce and soy mozzerella, with sauteed squash and zucchini. yummy.

My buddy Matt came into town a little while ago, touring with a couple bands. We hung out at the show. It was at a local skating rink of all places. The kids went crazy of course. Reminded me of high school...

Silent Envy

When I went back to Lone Pine for Wayne's service, I stayed at my friend Tia's house. Her baby Rylee LOVES bubbles...

bald..

some sprouting..

beginning to take over...

full on!!

------------------------
Barrett, Nicole and I went to the Independent and saw Panthers, Mono, and High on Fire.
This is Mono, a four piece Japanese instrumental ambient metal band. We were not expecting much but were quickly pulled in and amazed. The bass player kind of reminded us of the creepy girl from The Ring, but in a weird "dreamwoman" kind of way.

Theres not a lot to be said about High on Fire. Just...loud, amazing. "brutal"

------------
Halloween came and went without much celebration. We did, however dress up. Barrett and Angel were Wayne and Garth.

Amber was the little mermaid, although she looks a lot more like Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice. We went and hung out at one of Barrett's co-workers house. Lots of guitar hero and laptopping...we're a bunch of nerds.

that is all. Google "Cheney Impeachment" to update yourself on an important CURRENT event. Its all going on now.
